Monday, monday.

It was a relatively quiet day at Camp Piscitelli today.  No shoots.  No plans.  Nothing really to do except EMBRACE THE SUN that had finally come out after 3 straight days of rain and gloom!  It was such a relief to be able to get outside with my son and enjoy the weather.  He was asking for corn yesterday after eating baby corn out of our Thai food, so today we went to Neseralla's Farm and picked out some big, beautiful ears of butter & sugar corn and then sat on our steps and husked away.  Here are some shots.  I played with some textures in a couple for a vintage feel.

Ok people!  Here's your chance to score a FREE session with me.  I need you to get out YOUR cameras and start driving around your neighborhoods.  Remember that beautiful park, scenic vista, busted down old barn, field of wild flowers, dilapidated abandoned home, or whatever it is you've driven by that has caught your eye?  Well, I want to see it too.  I am looking for great locations to use for my portrait shoots and will give the person who sends the "best" location, preferably with a signed agreement  to use this location from the owner if applicable, a free portrait session**. Senior Girls

I had a really great shoot on Saturday with two senior girls from Sudbury.  Last year I shot their friend's senior photo--which was my very first senior session--and because they didn't want the typical seniorshoot the contacted me and the rest is history.  We shot in Sandwich (the oldest town on Cape Cod) at the Giving Tree Gallery & Sculpture Garden.  When we arrived the gardens were closed (ugh!) but the owner lives on the premises and with a few smiles, and yet semi-distressed looks on our faces, she obliged and let us go into the garden.  Crisis averted!  My favorite part of the gardens were definitely the towering bamboo shoots.  The light in there was to die for!  After we finished up here we headed to the 1000 foot boardwalk which is also in Sandwich.  Definitely a must see if you are ever in the area.  It is soooo beautiful!!  Here are some of my favorite shots....

Fun Photo Friday?

Sounds good, maybe I'll make it a recurring theme!  Today I took my son to the Scallop Festival in Buzzards Bay.  I'd never been before and thought it was a great excuse to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Can you stand it?

That's exactly what I said when I emailed this photo to a few of my most discerning critics--um family? :-)  I had my very first TWINS newborn shoot today.  7 days old and a cumulative 11.4 pounds.  Little Nate is indeed that--only 4 lbs 10 oz and, and his big sister, Ella is 6 lbs 10 oz. They were amazing!  They slept the entire time and let me mold and position them time after time. We only had a few pee-pee accidents, too--on the white sheep skin but that's ok...it's washable.  Here are a few favorites from today.

I wanted to steal them and take 'em home with me...and then I remembered the late night feedings.

Little Lovelies

I was on a mission last Friday.  I was checking out the antique shops earlier in the week and saw a few items I was very interested in but decided at that moment to pass them by.  You KNOW you need them when you can't stop thinking about them and start getting anxiety about whether or not somebody else may have scooped your future little lovelies up.  It was about 15 minutes before my 2 year old was due for a nap and even sooner before a melt down could happen but I knew I needed to go back.  When I walked into the Antique Asylum the woman said, "I knew you were on a mission!" as I places this adorable toy sewing machine and tiny little iron down on the counter.

Then it was off to Heirlooms, Etc to get this amazing antique milk can.  The colors, I think, are amazing and will photograph really well.  When I asked my husband what he thought of my new prop he said, "what, that old piece of junk?"....I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I can't wait to set up shoots when these may be appropriate!

School House Rock

My shoot on Saturday was in an old school house that was converted into condos.  Gotta love it!  The windows were amazing and gave me plenty of natural light to work with.  Harrison just turned 12 weeks old.  Because he was born 6 weeks premature, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of just how big (or small) he would be according to his parents he's growing like a weed and he has filled out like a little champ! Here are my favorite shots from that day.

Love Affair

It started back last winter.  I couldn't get enough.  My husband was privy to it all and actually found it amusing.

I would stalk and at the last minute I would pounce!

Ok, so it was on Ebay...I love PROPS!  I especially love antiques.  And so it began and continues.  I think they really add a timelessness to photos and my clients have been especially receptive.  When I look in stores, I don't go in looking for anything specific but when I see it, I j-u-s-t know.  Yesterday I found a great anitque globe which will go really great with the antique school desk I scooped up off of craisglist over the winter.  Perfect for a fall shoot out in the middle of a field with a couple of kids. Anyone intersted?!  So, here a few of my favorite finds.

3 Weeks And Counting!

Today I did a shoot with a great girl I met from one of my oh-so-fabulous mom groups.  She is expecting baby #2 in less than 3 weeks and looks AMAZING!!  We decided to do this now at 37 weeks , instead of at 7 or 8 months, because they were getting the nursery ready and I knew I wanted to capture some shots in there.  I was greated by Sadie, their 7 year old bull dog, and their 2 year old son, Frankie.  Considering this was really my first "REAL" maternity shoot--the first being my very good friend Andrea a few years ago--I am happy with the outcome.  Now I look forward to when the little one makes her way into the world so I can head back up and get those delicious newborn photos!  Ok, so here are some of my fav's from today...
